TJRD was in Montreal today playing Rhythm & Bruise, the only team that has laid a decisive beating on our team. Last time these two teams met the spread was over 150 points. Not so today! The Apocalyptic Chicks got off to a slow start trailing by well over 40 points in the first half; only to thrill the crowd with an absolute nail-biter coming back to lose in a heartbreaking 226-217 final. The loss was not the fault of the girls on the track, and they showed enormous heart with their thrilling comeback! The crowd was as loud in the last five minutes of play as they are in this short clip - featuring FBI taking her place as lead jammer and showing the crowd how we do derby in Toronto! (If you look hard enough you’ll see our ref Caesar Misbehavin’ who made the trip out to Montreal too!)
AMAZING JOB GIRLS! You impress us every time you roll out into the track, and each time in more spectacular fashion!
SNAP North York came by the Bunker to check is out as the TMRD helped us raise funds for our 2013 travelling schedule! Not only was the photographer from SNAP a really friendly guy, he was impressed with our skaters and our sport! That’s right - TJRD is bringing fans to the sport every time our skaters lace up!
Thanks SNAP North York for coming by!
