2012 is here! The TJRD would like to wish everyone a safe and happy New Year! We at the TJRD had a great year overall. We had our ups and our downs but we got up and kept skating through 2011 with everything we have in us! In the end, we had a great season; and to celebrate the amazing time we had in 2011 here is the first part of the slideshow from our 2011 end of season party! The video was compiled but Art Attack-Her’s awesome and talented parents, but due to size issues it has been compressed so we can get it out to you in time to greet 2012!

TJRD would like to congratulate Team Canada for an excellent job taking the silver at the first Roller Derby World Cup! While we’re at it, congratulations to Team USA for the gold, Team England for the bronze, and all of the teams that participated! You have all done an amazing job paving the way for the players of our league and junior leagues all over the world! We love you all and are looking forward for the next World Cup!
This beautiful Saturday morning, some of the awesome young ladies of the TJRD were volunteering their time at Jimmie Simpson RC where the rec centre hosted Breakfast With Santa! The breakfast was a blast and our pancake flipping friends were a huge help. Apple Scruff, Madzilla, Seemore Bruises, and Susie Bruisie were doing an excellent job of serving up breakfast alongside Coach R’effin. Thanks for representing the TJRD so well ladies!

The skaters of the TJRD were back at it Sunday afternoon at Jimmie Simpson RC. Not only were they tearing up the track, but both teams voted on the opposite team’s MVPs, Penalty Divas, and Best Team Spirit award winners from Saturday’s Inaugural Brawl in Alliston!

For those of you that couldn’t make it out to Alliston on Saturday; or those that would like to see some of it again; here is a great jam that shows how good the whole game was. The action was back and forth the whole night as our skaters put on an amazing show! This jam features Art Attack-Her jamming for black and Miss Fit jamming for white.
The Inaugural Brawl in Alliston was incredible! The TJRD’s Black v. White game was an extremely close bout with the black team squeaking out a 207-203 win! Thanks to the Renegade Derby Dames for a great time!!!
We had a great practice with some awesome guest coaches! Thank you to Rainbow Fight from Team Canada and Tink Pink of the Misfit Militia! We’re getting geared up to open for the Misfit Militia’s Inaugural Brawl against the Durham Derby Devils THIS COMING SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 12th! See our post below for more details!
